The Albert County Museum and RB Bennett Commemorative Centre in Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick extends an invitation to attend our Canada 150 celebration and 7th Annual R.B. Bennett Day on July 1, 2015 beginning at 1pm.
On May 24th, Alaina Lockhart, Member of Parliament for Fundy Royal, made an important announcement at the Albert County Museum in Hopewell Cape. She announced funding in the amount of $25,350 to the Albert County Historical Society Incorporated for their community project Growing Together: Seeds from the past; seeds for the future. She made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.
"Canada 150 is a defining moment in the history of our people and the Albert County Historical Society has found a home grown way to celebrate!," said Alaina Lockhart.
"Through the Growing Together project, Canadians of all ages will share their stories about their family gardens and the foods they have enjoyed for generations. Our gardening traditions offer such a unique perspective on our local culture; one we should be proud to share during this year of celebrations.” (Image of Alaina Lockhart provided by David Christie.)
