Candidate for Mayor: Peter Jubb

I have had a number of residents within the Village of Fundy Albert from Lower Coverdale, Hillsborough, Riverside Albert and Alma asking me to seek the position of Mayor in the upcoming Municipal elections to take place on April 14th.

I have lived in Albert county since 2002. After working as a Telecommunication’s Engineer in charge of a large district responsible for staff, large budgets and safety aspects re work.

I am involved in :

• Royal Canadian Legion Branch #32 Hillsborough as Past President
• Riverview Veterans association to support Veterans
• St Mary’s Anglican Church as a Layreader and outreach worker
• The Shrine that assist in helping children with medical issues ( as you have seen on TV) driving the small mini cars to raise funds for the children.

If I have your support I am aware that the local service districts have had very little or no input into local governance as mayor I would ensure that all voices would be heard whether living in the Villages or in the country side.

Main areas of concern are :  

1. Condition of the Roads and Infrastructure,
   
2. The wood lot owners I will support them to the maximum of my ability
   
3. I will work with Environmental Groups for the preservation of our eco-system and marshlands
   
4. Boost local to tourism and economic growth from Lower Coverdale to Alma
   
5. Talk to the Fishing Business in Alma to see how the council can help them
   
6. Pressure the N. B. Government to cover the cost of infrastructure that needs replacing
   
7. Revisit Amalgamation and do everything in my power to reverse or amend it 
   
8. Consult with businesses on how we can help you to expand
