The 15th Rising Tide Trails & Tunes Festival took place this year, bringing together local community groups and businesses to celebrate the arts and culture inspired by the natural beauty of the place in which we live!
Visitors and residents gathered at various venues and were treated to unique experiences featuring songs, stories, art, and adventure by local makers and explorers.
Maplewood Studios partnered with Explore Nature’s Bounty for an artventure through White Rock, combining a wonderful guided Sunday stroll and a nature-inspired art workshop, complemented by locally made breakfast-to-go from Cinnamon Soul Cafe.
The Broadleaf Barn dance returned to an exuberant crowd, while the Fleet Launch weekend celebrations began in Alma with a Paint & Sip hosted by the Hillsborough Public Library. The weekend continued with an Artisan’s Market, a Kids Zone, a Kitchen Party, and lobster rolls for the Fleet Launch, all organized by the Alma Collective.
We closed the festival by presenting the 11th Molly Kool Award to Jane Chrysostom and soaking in a songwriter’s circle with the talented musicians Freya Milliken, Sylvie Boulianne, and Nina Khosla, hosted by Lynn Colepaugh, all at the Molly Kool Centre, before heading to the wharf to send off the fishing crews to great fanfare.
We also had a successful pilot of the Driftscape app events function during the festival! Local businesses were highlighted with events on the Fundy Tales of the Tides tours. Big thanks to Bay of Fundy Adventures, Shipyard Cafe, Old Molly’s Bar, Broadleaf Guest Ranch, Sussex Ale Works, Cape Enrage, and Fundy National Park for contributing fantastic prizes to the Driftscape Rising Tide Festival Contest.
We are honoured and excited to have shared some of the truly one-of-a-kind experiences our region can offer to hundreds of locals and visitors, and can’t wait to do it again next year!
