You'd never know by the outside of the old church when you drive by it, on the fast-paced Main Street in Hillsborough, NB - that beyond its beautiful 19th century style doors there is a bustling life force of makers, bakers and growers. The essence of the Old Church Farmers Market is pure at heart. Everyone is drawn in by the smell of Oliver's German Bakery, the decadence and freshness. Then when they breach the doors and are greeted by the sanctuary of the auditorium, the ornate jewel-toned stained-glass windows and detailed hand crafted wood ceilings, they are delightfully surprised by the treasures inside.

The church has been home the Oliver's German Bakery since 2015 and for those that didn't know after the Hillsborough Baptist Church congregation outgrew the original building space, it moved into a larger one in 2011. Thus, changing the future and eventual outcome of this castle-like structure. The space is more like a community meeting place and supply centre now in 2025.
There’s the health centre, photo studio, bakery, and a farmers/artisanal market bringing the people into the building. Experiencing the joy of shopping for fresh farm-to-table food and straight from the maker to home, is becoming more important and relevant now more than ever. To be able to stock up for the week's supply on veggies, meats, breads, cheese, eggs, preserves, baked goods, wooden cutting/charcutier boards, candles, soaps, syrups, and more. Get locally made and hand-crafted gifts for friends and family and birthdays and other special occasions. Find beautiful pieces made by the creative artisans in our region.
There is hot coffee, tea and lemonade to enjoy as you browse, to take-out,or to enjoy outside on the picnic tables. This historic old church auditorium, now transformed into a vibrant market space where our community gathers to support local food, art and creativity.
This market connects the travelers and the locals alike with vendors who are also producers. Our current vendors include, Fundy Farms Local Harvest, Milton Mile Farms, Sommers & Co. Lavender Farm, The Bee's Knees Candles, Gordon's Wood Crafts, Karen's Creations, Rhonda's Sew Unik, Dawn Bee Soapworks, Herb n' Joy, Kathy Nutford specialty fudge, Riverside Bliss Sweets and Treats. Come out and support the talent in our community and our neighbours. The Old Church Farmers Market (2807 Main Street, Hillsborough) open every Saturday rain or shine from 9am-2pm.
