Members of the Bennett and Albert County Health Care Foundation Inc. held their annual general meeting at the Riverside-Albert Recreation Centre yesterday evening.

We were pleased that Fundy Albert Mayor Jim Campbell, Ward 1 Councillor David Garden and Ward 2 Councillor Loretta Elderkin were in attendance. Frances Leblanc, CEO of the Friends Foundation was also in attendance.

Our guest speaker, Shelly Hudson-McNaught, coordinator of the Nursing Homes Without Walls for Fundy Albert shared a program update, as well as plans to hold a Seniors Expo on June 11th from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Riverside-Albert Rec Centre.

"In Appreciation" Cards Now Available with BACH Foundation

Looking for a way to thank a helpful neighbour or family member? We now have "In Appreciation Cards" available to let them know you have made a donation to the BACH in their honour!

BACH Vitals Equipment Purchase

The Bennett and Albert County Health Care Foundation is pleased to support the Albert County Community Health Centre. One of the ways we achieve this is through the purchase of much needed equipment to enhance patient diagnostics. Recently, the foundation purchased a Welch Allyn Connex Spot Monitor, a versatile and portable device for healthcare settings to monitor a variety of patient vitals. Some of the key features of this piece of equipment include blood pressure measuring and monitoring, early detection of patient deterioration through early warning scores, and the ability to connect to electronic health records. The purchase of this equipment is possible because of your support for the foundation’s work through memorial donations, health centre employee lotteries, and community fundraising through monthly Rafflebox draws. Thank you for your support!

The Bennett and Albert County Health Care Foundation (BACH) hosts a Rafflebox 50/50. Proceeds are used to enhance community health services and primary health care throughout the Village of Fundy Albert. Draws will be advertised on Facebook and the Foundation website. Your continued support would be greatly appreciated.

BACH Annual General Meeting

The Bennett and Albert County Health Care Foundation held its Annual General Meeting on April 28th at the Riverside-Albert Recreation Centre. Chairperson Warren Williams highlighted the Foundation’s accomplishments in 2021 and presented the audited financial statements. The meeting concluded with the appointment of directors and officers for the current year, followed by a presentation to a special attendee.

A lot of work has been taking place to move forward on the priorities of the Community Health Needs Assessment, covering Hillsborough to Alma. Below, you will find the 10 priorities with an update of what is happening under each. Many of the initiatives listed below are supported by the Bennett and Albert County Health Care (BACH) Foundation.

BACH Golf Tournament 2017

June 17th marks the date of the 3rd Annual Bennett and Albert County Health Care (BACH) Foundation Golf Tournament. The focus of the day is “fun, friendship and charity,” according to Bob Rochon. Bob is a member of the BACH Board of Directors.

The tournament is a four-person scramble. In each team, all four players hit off the tee. The team then picks which ball to use for the next shot. The result is a focus on fun more than competition. As Bob says, “You don’t need to be a good golfer to enjoy a scramble, and on a par-3, anything is possible. With a bit of luck, even a mediocre golfer can do well.”
