Flu season typically runs from October until March each year, peak time being December until February. That mean the time is now! That being said, there are a few things you can do to help avoid getting sick, stay healthy, and/or reduce your symptoms if you do!
- Stay at home when you are sick, to prevent passing the virus.
- Eat nutritious foods. Choose a well-balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and immune supporting nutrients like Vitamin C.
- Drink plenty of fluids to stay well hydrated.
- Get enough sleep.
- Stay active and try to manage stress.
- Get your flu vaccine!
The flu vaccine is publicly funded to all NB residents starting at 6 months of age - that means you can get it for free!
