It's cold outside but warm inside the Albert County Community Health Centre. We know the winter months can be difficult for our physical and mental health, but we are here to help you stay well!
Here are some tips for keeping healthy during the colder winter months:

Here are some tips for keeping healthy during the colder winter months:
- Try to spend at least 10-20 minutes outdoors during daylight hours.
- Open curtains wide in the morning or sit near a window.
- Humidify your indoor air. It's great for skin, sinuses, and sleep!
- Focus on warm meals like soups, stews, or roasted vegetables.
- Include immune-supporting foods like citrus, leafy greens, ginger, garlic, and berries.
- Keep a consistent sleep schedule in a cool sleep space.
- Stay hydrated. Try herbal teas or warm water with lemon.
- Maintain social connections!
- Wash your hands often and consider getting your Flu, Pneumonia, RSV and/or COVID vaccines.
The Albert County Community Health Centre, Hillsborough Satellite location, in summer! At the Health Centre, regular hours remain all winter long, with a plethora of services offered in Riverside-Albert, as well as some services at the satellite location in Hillsborough.
Nursing services are available to everyone. You do not have to have a health care provider at the clinic to access the services. Consultations with a Registered Nurse are available Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
The services of a Social Worker, Physiotherapist, Clinical Nutritionist (Dietician), and a Diabetic Educator are available by appointment. They are by self referral, call 506-882-3100 to arrange your appointment.
Laboratory services are available in Riverside-Albert Monday to Friday, 8am to 11:30am. The Hillsborough Satellite office (2807 Main Street) has laboratory services every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8am to 11:30 am. Call 506-882-3100 to make an appointment. Please note, it is not possible to call the Hillsborough office directly.
Medical Imaging (X-ray) services are offered weekly. Horizon now has self booking. Scan the QR code on your requisition which takes you to the Horizon booking site. Scroll to page two for Albert County. The sites are not listed alphabetically. If you have difficulty with this process, please call the centre for help in booking.
We do ECGs, Holter Monitors and 24-hour Ambulatory Blood pressure monitoring. Ask your Health care provider to fax the requisition to 506-882-3101.
Vaccines are offered on Fridays at the Albert County Community Health Centre from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM. Give us a call to discuss what vaccines you may be eligible for and how we can help. Walk-ins are welcome.
