Valedictorian Mya O’Neill Johnston and Salutatorian Alexander Ward submitted by the author. On June 16, 2025, the staff of Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park warmly welcomed our graduates for Prom. The graduates and their guests enjoyed the applause from a crowd of well wishers as they exited their various rides. From a fire engine to antique cars to everything in between, the graduates and their guests arrived in fine fashion. The young ladies shone is beautiful dresses of every colour of the rainbow with intricate lace and shimmering sparkle, while the young men proudly wore their custom suits. The entire group an image of elegance and class. Aiden Jackson and Mya O’Neill Johnston were crowned Prom King and Queen.
Later in the week, on the warm summer’s evening of June 20, 2025, the graduating class dawned their caps and gowns and in front of family and friends, proudly crossed the stage to receive their high school diplomas, in a sense leaving their childhood behind and stepping into their futures. The halls that recently rung with trills of laughter and the hum of chatter, now filled with shouts of celebration and murmurs of praise. Salutatorian, Alexander Ward, opened the ceremony with humour, reflecting on friendships and memories made at Caledonia, thanking family and friends for their support, on behalf of the graduates. Valedictorian, Mya O’Neil Johnston, gave a heart-warming and sincere address. She spoke of shared experiences and lessons learned over the years with her classmates, reminding them that today is a starting point, not to look behind, but instead towards the future, and in a world where you can be anything, be kind.
