Wow, how quickly a year passes! This has been an exciting year full of change, development, and lots of relationship building.
As the Activity Director and most recent member of the ACDC/CAP (Albert County Development Centre / Caledonia Activity Place) Team, I have the pleasure of working with a great team within my community and getting to know our local residents. Lot’s of research, planning and elbow grease went into the last year enhancing our visibility and activities at the centre and I would like to take you through what that looked like.
In January we created our Facebook Page and started offering a Coffee House on Wednesday mornings from 11-2 pm followed by our very successful Crib & Crokinole afternoons on Thursday from 1-3 pm. Those Crokinole players’ can get really excited!
Spring was busy with relationship building while attending local Farmers’ Markets and the Senior’s Expo; thank you NHWW and Horizon Health for this event. We also held a Service Canada Presentation at the centre in June. Our second Paint Event took place in July and a Family Craft Day in August where we made wind chimes. Our first time at the Albert County Exhibition was a huge success enhancing our visibility to the residents of Fundy Albert, we definitely want to attend 2026!
We ended 2025 with an Afternoon Kitchen Party at the centre as part of the CCRC Neighborhood Socials program in September, a Halloween Movie Night in October featuring the movie “Casper”, ‘Bingo for Chocolate’ and a Craft day building wreaths in December.
For 2026 the sky is the limit!
