Keeping up with Caledonia has transitioned to Friends of the Tigers to align with the various initiatives being conducted by the school and the greater community of Fundy-Albert.
The Tigers would once again like to thank the community for their support. The Graduates hosted a pancake breakfast in Alma and the Student Council hosted the Steevescote Road Haunted Hike, both of these were successful due to the large turnout from our community. For this we say thanks!
Upcoming Events:
The Tigers are hosting weekly pickleball nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9. Cost per person is $2. Accepting all levels of players from beginner to experienced. There are two separate courts to provide learning opportunities for beginners with a third court available based on participant numbers.
The Tigers will be hosting a craft fair in December. While the dates are being confirmed you can contact Student Council President, Jenna Rossiter at [email protected], or the school for more information. Our Facebook page will be updated with more information as soon as everything has been confirmed.
Congratulations to our High School Girls Soccer team who participated in the regional competition in Campbellton on Oct 25th. With soccer season winding down, we celebrate all of the players and thank all of the volunteer coaches for another great season of fun and development in the sport. We would also like to thank Hillsborough Baptist Church and volunteers for the use of the church soccer field, while the Harry Doyle Field is undergoing it’s final stage of reconstruction. Your willingness to assist our soccer program is great appreciated.
Big News:
The staff and students are excited to share that Caledonia High School will be breaking ground, this Fall, on a 25x48 foot geothermal greenhouse. This project is being supported by Federal and Provincial grants as well as crowdfunding from community businesses and members. This project will be an asset to the S.T.E.M. classes within the school and will be used in future lesson plans for both Hillsborough Elementary and Caledonia Middle and High Schools as well as help battle food insecurity within the student population. Stay tuned for a more in-depth article on this amazing project in the December edition of Connection Albert County.
