Connecting Albert County has been in operation since December 2014, when its website was launched, and began publishing its first regular newsletter in January of 2015. CAC's creation resulted from needs identified during many community meetings and discussions held between 2009 and that date. It was spearheaded by a group of passionate community members that included Joanne Butland, Deborah Carr, Joseph Gallant, Barb Gebuhr, Livia Goodbrand, Lynne Greenblatt, Mindy Holmstrom, Susan Quinn, Phyllis Sutherland, Janine Underhill, Janet Wallace, Micha Fardy (then representing the United Way Greater Moncton SENB) and Joanna Brown (then representing the Westmorland-Albert Community Inclusion Network). From the get-go, it received further support from the Albert County Health and Wellness Center, with substantial funding by The Bennett and Albert County Health Care Foundation. CAC was truly created by the community, for the community, with care, intention, and dedication.
