Our Vision
An engaged and informed Rural Albert County Community.

Our Mission
To build connections and foster pride of place and culture in rural Albert County by publishing in print and online.

Our Guiding Principles
  • We celebrate our culture, environment, and sense of community.
  • We are open and inclusive.
  • We share information and local knowledge.
  • We promote learning opportunities and community events.
  • We value cultural diversity.
  • We encourage the pursuit of health and wellness in the community

Our Background
Connecting Albert County resulted from needs identified during many community meetings and discussions held between 2009 and 2014. Initially a fourteen person steering committee was formed which led into a smaller working group, and then an official volunteer Board of Directors. CAC then became a registered non-profit in January 2019. The website, www.connectingalbertcounty.org was launched in December 2014 and the volunteer led group began publishing regular newsletters in January 2015, starting with a community calendar and 2-page document.

CAC is now a monthly 30-page (and growing) publication that sees contributions from community members from all walks of life, from one end of Albert County to the other. It hosts both a print and online community calendar and active social media following. It continues to grow and expand in multifaceted areas of community development.

We are funded through advertising and grants provided by our local community.

Our Services
Free
  • Monthly Community Publication, in both print and digital format, featuring local community groups, businesses, organizations, and individuals.
  • Community Calendar that all groups, businesses, organizations, and individuals can utilize.
  • Employment Advertising for Businesses/Organizations.
  • Community Connections and Resources, included a digital guide and personalized assistance for businesses, organizations, and individuals.

Fee for Service
  • Advertising packages for both our print and digital media.
  • Development of advertising assets.
  • Employment Advertisements and Marketing Services, including development of job descriptions, multi-location advertising, and candidate screening.

Up & Coming in January
Our publication will be available monthly in audio format! Perfect for those who “aren’t big readers”, are auditory learners, or perhaps spend a lot of time in the car driving but still want to know what is happening in their community, and stay up to date on local interest stories!

Our new podcast “CAC: In Conversation” will be launched where you can hear interviews with local organizations, economic drivers, and community members who have a story to tell.

The special thing about Connecting Albert County is that is a not-for-profit publication that is fully free for our readers and fully grass-roots. It was created for rural Albert County, by a diverse group of Albert County resident volunteers, and it continues doing exactly what it set out to do: connect us all and provide education, knowledge, support, and resources to our community. We continue to do this by the the generous support of volunteers: around 80% of what happens at CAC comes from volunteer work. In addition to this, the publication impressively runs on primarily community financial support through advertising, donations, and local grants.

In recent months Connecting Albert County has seen tremendous growth in a variety of ways:
  • More articles and and stories being regularly contributed.
  • More questions for assistance and resources from the community/public.
  • More engagement in collaborative efforts in the County. Wider reach in both print and online media.

This is AMAZING!
However, with added growth, we are incurring added costs. And so, we are looking for our community to help. This is a reminder that every contribution, whether through advertising, sponsorship, or personal donation, no matter the size, makes a huge impact on our organization!

Here are some ways you can support CAC financially:

1. Advertising Your Business/Organization

Wondering how to reach your target audience in Albert County? Show the community you care, and reach locals and visitors by advertising in our monthly publication.

For 10 years, Connecting Albert County has provided our community with information on people, places, and events in rural Albert County. Every month, our publication has a readership of more than 1200, our social media regularly reaches over 100,000 monthly viewers, and our website receives thousands of hits.

Hundreds of free print copies of the publication are distributed each month throughout rural Albert County. Our full-colour digital publication has over 600 subscribers and a much greater readership including residents and repeat visitors to the area. We are actively securing more distributions for paper copies from the border of Riverview, all the way to Fundy Park, and Elgin!

If you want to show your pride of place, support a grass-roots organization that is run by locals, written by locals, and uplift local people, places, and businesses, look no further! Contact us or go online to view the details, including special incentive offers! www.connectingalbertcounty.org/ads

2. Become a Community Donor

Honour a loved one, sponsor a story you loved, make a donation in the name of someone you know is an avid reader, or for any reason at all, we accept private donations that can be processed online, e-transferred, or donated by cash or cheque in any amount of your choosing. Let us know if you'd like it recognized, and we are happy to do so! Annual donors will also be recognized on our Sponsorship page.

Questions? Contact us at [email protected]/ 506.381.8747/ or chat with any of our Directors!
