Coordinator Melody Land in our new office space in Hillsborough. Our Vision
An engaged and informed Rural Albert County Community.
Our Mission
To build connections and foster pride of place and culture in rural Albert County by publishing in print and online.
Our Guiding Principles
- We celebrate our culture, environment, and sense of community.
- We are open and inclusive.
- We share information and local knowledge.
- We promote learning opportunities and community events.
- We value cultural diversity.
- We encourage the pursuit of health and wellness in the community
Connecting Albert County resulted from needs identified during many community meetings and discussions held between 2009 and 2014. Initially a fourteen person steering committee was formed which led into a smaller working group, and then an official volunteer Board of Directors. CAC then became a registered non-profit in January 2019. The website, www.connectingalbertcounty.org was launched in December 2014 and the volunteer led group began publishing regular newsletters in January 2015, starting with a community calendar and 2-page document.
CAC is now a monthly 30-page (and growing) publication that sees contributions from community members from all walks of life, from one end of Albert County to the other. It hosts both a print and online community calendar and active social media following. It continues to grow and expand in multifaceted areas of community development.
We are funded through advertising and grants provided by our local community.

Our new podcast “CAC: In Conversation” will be launched where you can hear interviews with local organizations, economic drivers, and community members who have a story to tell.
The special thing about Connecting Albert County is that is a not-for-profit publication that is fully free for our readers and fully grass-roots. It was created for rural Albert County, by a diverse group of Albert County resident volunteers, and it continues doing exactly what it set out to do: connect us all and provide education, knowledge, support, and resources to our community. We continue to do this by the the generous support of volunteers: around 80% of what happens at CAC comes from volunteer work. In addition to this, the publication impressively runs on primarily community financial support through advertising, donations, and local grants.
In recent months Connecting Albert County has seen tremendous growth in a variety of ways:
- More articles and and stories being regularly contributed.
- More questions for assistance and resources from the community/public.
- More engagement in collaborative efforts in the County. Wider reach in both print and online media.
This is AMAZING!
However, with added growth, we are incurring added costs. And so, we are looking for our community to help. This is a reminder that every contribution, whether through advertising, sponsorship, or personal donation, no matter the size, makes a huge impact on our organization!
Here are some ways you can support CAC financially:
1. Advertising Your Business/Organization
