You may remember in October that I shared about the work that the UNB Nursing students have been doing as a part of their Community Nursing practicums that take place in the fall and winter of each year. Since then, we’ve had 2 cohorts of students working with seniors in the community, as well as with youth at Caledonia High School & Middle School. Nursing Homes Without Walls and Caledonia Place have welcomed the students, who have been providing educational sessions throughout the community, on health topics of interest such as preventing falls, and health habits. The schools have received presentations on topics including Health Misinformation, Substance Use, Eating Disorders, and Stress Management.
We look forward to welcoming more students in the fall and are happy to hear from anyone who may want to invite the students to present on health topics or conduct health screening within the community.
