COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT AGENCY (CEA) offers employment services to Persons with "Intellectual Disabilities" (including those considered slow learners) as well as Persons with "Brain Injury", who would demonstrate the potential for success within a community employment setting given short term support.
Job seekers, please visit our Job Opportunities page regularly. We will continue to add job listings.
Employers, please send your job listings. We will post the listings and also mention some of the jobs in our monthly e-bulletin. The Chipoudy Communities Revitalization Committee (CCRC) will organize a “Job Fair” for adults on Thursday, April 16, 2015, from 4pm To 8 pm at the Riverside-Albert Recreation Centre. The idea for the fair arose from local business owners who have found it difficult to find employees who have a strong work ethic and view attendance as a responsibility. Many adults in the area would like to work, but often prefer a part-time position. We believe that there are many opportunities to match employee skill sets with needs of employers. Perhaps there are seniors who have worked many years and acquired bookkeeping, landscaping, customer relations, maintenance, or a myriad of other skills, and would like to work 2 days a week. There may be a small business owner who needs that skill for that short period of time. We propose to create a “bank” of skilled people from which employers could draw valued employees.
Let us know if you are interested in such a concept, whether you are an employer or an adult with skills to share. Call 882-2573 or 734-2044, and watch the CCRC Facebook page for details! |
