Well, it is that time of the year. The days are getting longer, the birds are singing, flowers are budding and … there’s a growing anticipation of a gridlocked Route 114. Sunshine is cresting over the horizon in the early morning hours, fog sweeps across the rippling waves and … BLARE … the fog horn reverberates across the Bay. Good ole Cape Enrage! Calm and wild as always.
As a new member of the Cape Enrage team, I am amazed that I get to look out across the iconic Bay of Fundy every day this summer. It puts a big smile on my face. Our team is hard at work getting Cape Enrage ready for another busy summer of bustling tourists, but I want to take a moment to remind our residents that we are here and ready to delight.
New this season, we have an ice cream shop bursting with an assortment of mouth-watering flavours. Oh, and if the building looks familiar, you may have seen it on the CBC show Race Against the Tide. If you just need a moment to get out and reset, slide onto one of our trails for a serene forest-bathing experience.
Did you know we have fossils? I may be letting the cat out of the bag on this little-known secret, but we actually have some of the most intriguing fossils of the Bay of Fundy region. And to highlight them, we have 2 tours available to explore, see and touch these fossils first hand.
So, I hope you will come and visit this magical place and experience something new and old this season. Make a day of it and after exploring our fossils, head over to the Albert County Museum & RB Bennett Centre located at 3940 Route 114, in Hopewell Cape and visit ‘Albert’ our newest and oldest member to the area.
Opening Day is May 17th and I hope you will come and say, ‘hi’. For more information check out our site at www.capeenrage.ca
