We understand and support you in your efforts of wellness. We know how important it is today to be as mentally and physically fit as we can be. Nowhere is the relationship between mental and physical health more evident than in the area of chronic conditions. The associations between mental and physical health include:
· Poor mental health is a risk factor for chronic physical conditions.
· People with serious mental health conditions are at high risk of experiencing chronic physical conditions.
· People with chronic physical conditions are at risk of developing poor mental health.
Understanding the links between mind and body is the first step in developing strategies to reduce the incidence of co-existing conditions and support those already living with mental illnesses and chronic physical conditions.
CMHA of NB is a different organization than the Mental Health Clinics and we provide many services to support you. We have presentations on topics of wellness and illness that we can provide at no cost in your place of business or just in general in your community. We can facilitate self-help groups on various topics such as self-esteem and depression and we can also facilitate workshops too, such as ‘Kids Have Stress Too’. We can be a resource and an advocate for you or your loved one.
To contact your CMHA of NB representative, please call Denise Miller at 852-3270 or by email at [email protected] to find out when she will be at the Albert County Health and Wellness Centre or check your community calendar on-line at www.ConnectingAlbertCounty.org
