The 2020 season at the Fundy Curling Club (FCC) is well under way. January was full of great action on the ice with a record number of new curlers who graduated from our adult Learn to Curl program. All our rookie curlers are already putting up well-positioned guards, delivering great draw shots and throwing awesome take-outs! But best of all, they are adding to the great atmosphere at the club with their enthusiasm, desire to learn a new sport and big smiles and laughs on and off the ice.
In January, accomplished curler Rob Swan paid a visit to FCC in his quest to Curl Across the Nation by playing a game in every curling club in Canada. Originally from Harvey Station, NB, Rob’s goal this year is to curl in more than 100 games in more than 100 different curling rinks across our great country this curling season! Thanks for coming to Fundy and good luck!
February is the month of love and what says "I Love You" more than taking your significant other out and getting in on some of the great events coming your way at the club? Trust me on this and take in one or more of the following events and chocolates, roses, or a trip to a warm sunny destination will be a distant memory!
The first weekend of February is our mixed Bonspiel in which up to 16 teams from far and near will compete to be crowned the FCC Mixed Champions. Come on out and watch some of the exciting action on the ice in what will be the busiest weekend of the year.
On February 17th, the FCC will have an information booth at the Salt and Fir Centre in Fundy Park as the Friends of Fundy and Fundy National Park host the Family Day Sliding Party. After sliding in the bowl, be sure to drop by and see us for information on the club and our programs.
The club will be hosting all manner of curling games from Little Rocks, stick curling, doubles curling and whatever else we can come up with when we celebrate Curling Day in Canada on February 22nd. Join us for the Canada-wide curling game and a chance to win a $10,000 club renovation!
See you at the club and until next time....Good Curling!
