Now in its seventh year, the Rising Tide Festival showcases Atlantic Canada talent in Fundy National Park's extraordinary natural setting. During this family-friendly event, held on August 19, 20 and 21, 2016, festivalgoers will be able to take part in many activities such as a smart phone photography workshop, a songwriters' circle, a sunrise ceremony, many music concerts, nature-based experiences and more.

You will be asked to contribute $20 toward materials. Reserve your spot in person at the Park's Visitor Centre or by calling 506-887-6000.
Molly Kool Kitchen Party

Saturday, August 20
Smart Phone Photography Workshop with Mark Hemmings
10:00 a.m. - Molly Kool Centre
Mark Hemmings is an internationally recognized travel and commercial photographer. His work includes international jobs with Lonely Planet Guidebooks. Back home in Saint John, NB, Mark works with organizations and companies to help them with branding and advertising. In 2000 Mark moved to Japan for a year to learn advertising photography, and that year proved pivotal in shaping his lighting style and how he approaches photography within the context of advertising. In 2005 he started his side career as a photography workshop instructor, teaching people how to create better photographs. Space for this workshop is limited to 20. Please reserve yours at the park's visitor centre in person or by calling 506-887-6000.
Ian Sherwood
12:30 p.m. - Fundy Outdoor Theatre
Sherwood is a musician, story teller and constant creator. His unique musicianship combined with his tales of heart-break, victory and adventure quickly gained him recognition as a solid performer, lyricist and player. He was named Contemporary Singer of the Year by the 2013 Canadian Folk Music Awards, Best Male Artist of the Year by the 2012 International Acoustic Music Awards and was the 2008 and 2010 Music Nova Scotia Musician of the Year.
Christina Martin
1:40 p.m. - Fundy Outdoor Theatre
Experimentation is the lifeblood of any artist. But occasionally they experience moments when everything comes into focus, and suddenly they have opened a door to a limitless creative future. Christina Martin has reached that point on her fifth album, It’ll Be Alright, a 10-song collection that finds the Halifax-based singer-songwriter attaining what her music has always suggested, a place where the ghosts of her musical heroes freely mingle with pop-rock’s modern architects.
Copper earrings workshop
2:00 p.m. - Fundy Outdoor Theatre
This workshop, lead by artist Aidan Stanley, is limited to 15 participants. You will be asked to contribute $20 toward materials. Reserve your spot in person at the Park's Visitor Centre or by calling 506-887-6000.
Raphaël Butler
2:50 p.m. - Fundy Outdoor Theatre
A graduate from l’École nationale de la chanson and a finalist at theFestival international de la chanson de Granby, Raphaël is an emerging artist of the musical scene in Acadie. His writing, which he qualifies as simple and authentic, is about what surrounds him, what moves him and what he knows. With his catchy melodies, Raphaël proposes a folk pop concert that will allow you to travel in his world! “I have the soul of a cowboy in an urban decor. I do folk pop. I sing who I am.”
Earthbound Trio
4:00 p.m. - Fundy Outdoor Theatre
Earthbound Trio, at first glance, resembles a traditional acoustic trio, but these three talented musicians blend elements of folk, funk, blues, reggae, and rock with clever effects and engineering to create a wave of sound you would never expect from the acoustic instruments on stage. Comprised of songwriter and guitarist Dwayne Doucette, Mike Humble on drums and percussion, and Bob Fitzgerald on bass, the group has earned a fiercely devoted following in the time since the 2013 release of their debut EP Lettuce Turnip the Beet.
Matt Minglewood
5:10 p.m. - Fundy Outdoor Theatre
Minglewood is on stage the embodiment of a Southern rocker but with an eclectic twist, he is equally comfortable performing a Country ballad, a Celtic air or Rockin' the blues. His music and song writing has the natural universality one only hears from a born storyteller. The songs can be somewhat autobiographical as in Me and the Boys, a song about carefree days of his youth or social issues he puts forth in Long Way from Texas. Many of Matt's tunes grapple with the universal feelings of passion, frustrations, hope, loneliness, love, disappointment and regret as well as his deep love of the Maritimes.
Singer Song Writer Circle
7 p.m. - Molly Kool Centre
The singer-songwriters’ circle will bring together Brent Mason who will lead the circle, Christina Martin, Matt Minglewood, and Ian Sherwood. They will share stories and songs in this intimate event. Seats are limited to 60. Please reserve yours at the park's visitor centre in person or by calling 506-887-6000.
Live music
9 p.m. - Octopus Garden Café, Alma

Sunday, August 21
Sunrise Ceremony
6:00 a.m. - Park Headquarters Lookout (across the Visitor Centre overlooking the Bay)
An event not to be missed! Hubert Francis, drummer extraordinaire and storyteller, is a Mi’kmaq from the Elsipogtog First Nation. He has dedicated his life to educating the public about his culture and traditions, but more importantly how we should conserve and protect Mother Earth for the sake of our children.

Sticky Bandits
12:30 p.m. - Fundy Outdoor Theatre
The Sticky Bandits can and will play anywhere from bars, kitchens, sidewalks, festivals, or even in their van on the way to the next gig. They believe in an old fashioned way of living and it comes across in their down home songs about life, love, and deals with the devil. With a sound as strong as a runaway freight train the boys know how to keep a crowd captivated with stories, songs, and solid folk progressions. The Sticky Bandits have been booked at Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival, Evolve, and Folly Fest.
Tomato Tomato
1:40 p.m. - Fundy Outdoor Theatre
Tomato/Tomato is comprised of husband and wife team, John and Lisa McLaggan. This quirky twosome performs a mix of old timey bluegrass, roots, and folk music. Their dynamic live performances feature John on vocals and guitar and Lisa on vocals, washboard, bass drum, and tambourine. The duo's unique sound, strong vocal harmonies, and colourful original music have quickly led to them being one of the most sought-after acts in Southern N.B. Their new album, entitled I Go Where You Go, builds on their signature blend of high energy foot stompers and traditional folk.
Jessica Rhaye Trio
2:50 p.m. - Fundy Outdoor Theatre
A deep sense of warmth and comfort permeates Far Gone Lullabies, the fourth album by Canadian singer-songwriter Jessica Rhaye, released in the fall of 2013. The stunning collection showcases Jessica’s soaring, winsome vocals, as well as her versatile songwriting, including co-writes with Canadian indie staples, Ron Sexsmith and Royal Wood. Confident, yet relaxed, Far Gone Lullabiesis the work of an artist who has come into her own. Her list of nominations runs long and deep, including a Canadian Folk Music Award and multiple East Coast Music Awards.
Les Hay Babies
4:00 p.m. - Fundy Outdoor Theatre
Les Hay Babies are a trio of women with colourful personalities. All from New Brunswick, Katrine, Vivianne and Julie intermingle their accents to create a flamboyant ambiance, and to present their very own recipe of indie-folk-country. One of their great strengths is their vocal harmonies. It is the authentic stories they sing that makes this trio so charming. The themes of their songs are usually personal, sometimes tackled in a deep manner, sometimes with a touch of humour.
