The 15th Rising Tide Trails & Tunes Festival took place this year, bringing together local community groups and businesses to celebrate the arts and culture inspired by the natural beauty of the place in which we live!

Visitors and residents gathered at various venues and were treated to unique experiences featuring songs, stories, art, and adventure by local makers and explorers.

Harvey Hall Celebrating 140 years

The Harvey Hall is celebrating its 140th year, 1884-2024. 2023 was a full year to celebrate at its Annual General Meeting welcoming a receptive audience of community leaders, civic advocates, friends, neighbors, the Harvey Hall team of advisors and board members, Village of Fundy Albert members of Council, including His Worship Mayor Rob Rochon, historians, volunteers, community activists, cultural advocates, and like-minded folks…it was a terrific and lively crowd!

A Recap of the R. B. Bennett Day Celebration at the Albert County Museum & RB Bennett Commemorative Centre

The Albert County Historical Society, through the “New Horizons for Seniors Program”, was pleased to offer a “bring to life” heritage experience to the community.

The highlight of the 2023 RB Bennett Day celebration was the live theatre heritage drama performance, “Just Between Friends”, provided by professional actors, Thomas Daley and Shawn McCarthy of “Character Matters Production Company,”in Miramichi, NB. The drama script was written specifically for the July 3rd Bennett Day event by the performing actors. Not only did the drama performance provide enjoyable community entertainment, but the audience was provided a memorable experience of learning more about two significant political figures born in New Brunswick.

Schedule of Events:

9 am - 2 pm Alma Market Day (indoor & outdoor) at the Activity Centre
10 am Kids Red & White Bicycle Parade at the Alma Rink - prizes to be won & decorating supplies will be available
11 am - 1 pm Free Community hotdog BBQ provided by the Tide Church at the Activity Centre parking lot
11 am - 1 pm Bouncy Castle provided by Tides Church at the Activity Centre parking lot
12 pm Canada Day Cake at the Activity Centre 4 pm Cake Walk indoors at the Activity Centre (cakes provided by locals)
7 pm Fundy Ceilidh concert at the Activity Centre (free)
10 pm Fireworks display, thanks to the Alma Volunteer Fire Department

Free Admission to Fundy National Park with lots of free activities.

150th Celebration garden - Hillsborough

The 150th Celebration Garden planting ceremony was well-attended at the Peace Park in Hillsborough.

Those attending included students from the Hillsborough Elementary School, seniors and Brian Keirstead (MLA), Paul Kyle (representing William Henry Steeves Museum), Jeff Jonah (Village of Hillsborough) and Annie Simpson from the Hillsborough Women's Institute (WI), who is 98 years old, and who planted red and white 'flag' tulips along with the rest.
