Besides our Save the Mapleton Acadian Forest fundraiser to purchase the old growth Acadian forest in our community and save it from clearcutting, the Elgin Eco Association has been keeping busy with other activities.
One of them is our little libraries.
Little libraries are placed in our community park and beside the Women’s Institute Hall. We made them from two used microwaves that were placed in a small box resembling a little house.
The bottom microwave has children books in them; the top one has adult books in them. People can use them to leave, trade or exchange books. They will be rotated regularly as soon as it catches on. We will even attempt to fill requests for certain books. Bring them back when you are done and take another one.
