The Albert County Historical Society is forming a Steering Committee to plan celebrations and activities for Albert County’s 175th Birthday, taking place in 2020.
Albert County 175 is a celebration of the 175th Anniversary of the founding of Albert County, New Brunswick. The act to found the county was passed by the New Brunswick Legislature on March 23, 1845, and gained Royal Assent on August 8, 1845, making Albert County officially a county. This makes us older than Canada by 22 years–now that is worthy of a party!
We want everyone to share in the excitement of our 175th and we’ll be looking for inspiring ways to commemorate our shared past, to celebrate today, and look ahead to our bright future. We’re looking to gather a great group of volunteers and we want to hear from people across the Albert County who have ideas for events, projects or other initiatives. Options for funding will also be explored.
We’re forming the Albert County 175 Celebration Committee. The committee will work to generate ideas and to inspire others to contribute thoughts and events to the Albert County 175 Celebrations. Anyone who would be willing to take part in this committee, or know of someone who would be like to be involved, is encouraged to send an email to [email protected]. We are planning for a great year!
Help us celebrate Albert County’s 175th birthday!
