For some Tales from the Creek evenings, we featured people who have lived and contributed to the community , such as local teachers that taught many of the people (now grown-ups) living here. Several special individuals, like Mary Majka, Joyce Hudson, Betty Williams, have been invited and some, like Freda Gamble, were remembered. We have had evenings dealing with the early industries that were so important to this area like mining and shipbuilding .
As new people arrive in Albert County from various places, it's important that they have the opportunity to learn about the history of Albert County. A lot of things have changed. Things have come and gone but the history is very interesting and should be remembered. For this reason we like to feature "Tales from the Creek" as one of our community programs.
