If Riverside Consolidated School closes next year, children as young as four years old might be on a bus for more than an hour and a half each way. When they get to school, after dealing with carsickness, full bladders and possibly bullying, they immediately go to class -- the school buses arrive too late for the children from Alma and Riverside-Albert to take part in the breakfast program at Hillsborough.
Four members of the District Education Council as well as members of the media were on the bus tour today. Our discomfort led to the success of this initiative. Read the CBC report here.
