Farmers Market Update

We are enjoying the late summer influx of visitors.There are so many new faces this year, both from the community and from not so far away. But the real news is we are seeing the first early-bird Christmas shoppers! They say they want to avoid future crowds and get the first crack at gift selections. Some vendors are starting (with hesitation) to build stock for Christmas in the Country, hoping it can happen. We don't know what it will look like yet, but we hope to be there... with bells on.

Oh, the Fame...

In March 2020, Alma was listed as one of the “15 Top-Rated Small Towns in Canada” by planetware.com.

The village was described as “the gateway to the world-famous high tides of the Bay of Fundy” and also as “a great spot to grab a bite to eat after a hike in the park (try the sticky buns — everyone in town raves about them, and for good reason).”

Urban/Rural Rides - Prepare Now to Help with a Second Wave

When the pandemic began in March, nearly everything shut down except that which was essential to our survival – food, medicine, some medical services and the industries that support those needs such as manufacturing, farming and trucking. We at Urban/Rural Rides, also stopped providing transportation until we had safety protocols in place then begin easing back into service by providing delivery of food and medicine. We are now, in addition to deliveries, transporting our clients again for medical purposes.
