This fun takes place at the Fundy Curling Club in Riverside-Albert, where a light supper may be purchased, and a beverage of choice. The Curling Club needs a new ice plant, and they have partnered with the Chipoudy Communities Revitalization Committee, who is raising money for a preschool and Lifelong Learning Centre at Riverside Consolidated School. These two community groups share the other 50% of each evening’s ticket sales.
People have been coming each Friday night, playing cards, dice, cribbage, darts, and sharing conversations with old and new friends. The increased sense of community has been the highlight of the winter and spring, a bonus to the fundraising for worthy causes! We look forward to seeing even more people come as the jackpot grows. The Curling Club is only allowed to hold 150 people, by regulation of the Fire Marshall, so additional patrons may wait under a tent, in the parking lot, take a lovely spring walk around the village – but be back for the announcement at 7:30!
