A message from the Village of Hillsborough
Many residents of Hillsborough and the surrounding areas were disappointed to learn that our only financial institution has chosen to close its doors. This leaves our communities with no physical banking presence.
To date your village council has been in talks with OMISTA Credit Union about how we might be able to potentially work together. If OMISTA Credit Union is able to service our market area, it would have to be in a meaningful way for all involved, and one that provides ease of use and service.
More than 5 million Canadians trust their local credit union as their partner for full service and day-to-day banking. Credit unions are focused on strengthening Canada’s economy; keeping money in the pockets of their members; helping communities prosper; putting people before profits; and partnering for public policy solutions. Credit Unions are unique from other financial institutions in that they are not owned by shareholders; they are owned by customers who live here and work here. All Credit Unions share a common bond – to improve the wealth of the people and communities they serve.
OMISTA’s purpose statement is "Investing in Each Other. " Sound like a good fit!
