On November 28, 2022, a Local Governance Reform Election will be held in the Fundy Albert Community, as well as in many other communities throughout New Brunswick.
Fundy Albert Community has always been a strong community that takes great pride in our heritage, natural scenery and, most importantly, each other. Our giving community is very quick to pay things forward to help each other out.
This month marks the beginning of a new community voice. One that YOU will have a say in. One that is formed by neighbours coming together to share their ideas, concerns and hopes with each other and with the people we vote for on the upcoming election days. Advanced polls will be November 19 and 21,with election day being November 28. January 1,2023 is when our newly elected people will come together to form the new local government for Fundy Albert.

Sharing information has been going on long before the election through face-to-face meetings, door to door, social media, phone, email, text and in printed material like our own Connecting Albert County newsletter. These activities show one of the signs that our elected neighbours are willing to dedicate themselves and their time to us. We will be voting for one mayor for Fundy Albert Community and voting for a councillor for the ward in which you live.
A great deal of care and effort is being taken to make sure everyone in our community knows about the election, the issues and the options to inform people before they vote. “Albert County Strong” is a place where “No One Gets Left Behind”.
Quite often we hear these words “please get out and vote”, but we often don’t hear enough of a reason to vote. As in all local elections, supporting your neighbour is very important. Your support helps not only to build a stronger community, but also to build the voice needed to talk with higher tiers of government. Keeping in mind that the locally elected people are not party driven and only have the community’s best interests in mind. These are our neighbours, living in the same community and calling on your help by voting in the same way as you would do if they were at the side of the road with a flat tire. You know you wouldn’t just drive by!
Please keep in mind this change in Local Governance will not change the fact that we are the same neighbours who see no boundaries when it comes to helping and working with each other.
