The Fundy Biosphere Reserve was awarded nearly $50,000 from the federal Minister of Canadian Heritage, through the Canada 150 fund.
The Canada 150 fund was established to support community projects that celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017.
The Fundy Biosphere Reserve is aiming to promote the area as a place to celebrate this anniversary. They are launching the Canada’s 150 Amazing Places challenge. The purpose is to encourage and engage Canadians to celebrate nature, the environment, sports and active living. There are 50 Amazing Places in the UNESCO-designated Fundy Biosphere Reserve and people of all ages will be challenged to discover and experience them. Prizes will be awarded to participants.
This will take place between April and August 2017.
