Volunteers are needed to facilitate Caregiver Support Groups in rural communities of Riverside-Albert, Hillsborough, Petitcodiac, Salisbury and Sackville. Caregiver experience is an asset. As well, senior or mature volunteers are encouraged to participate.
With support from the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program through HospiceSoutheast New Brunswick, training is available on September 11th and 18th, 2019. Training will also be available in the fall for volunteers who wish to work with palliative clients in their homes. Volunteers are also needed to allow caregivers to attend the support groups or attend other weekly activities.
Caregiver Support Groups start in October 2019. The five-week sessions are for family members taking care of loved ones with a serious, long-term chronic or terminal illness.
