Our Annual General Meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 in Moncton at the Legends Room of the Moncton Coliseum (377 Killam Drive, Entrance C at the rear of the Coliseum) from 10 am to 5 pm (doors will open at 9 am). Registration forms should be sent to the clubs shortly. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided by JCB Interpretation Inc. and Sonic-Image. A coffee break and lunch will be offered.
Since it is an election year, a nominating committee, chaired by Vivian White, will be responsible for approaching candidates interested in running for president of the Federation.
During this meeting, the board received a visit from Celia Hayes (certified audiologist) and Caleb Bustin (equipment specialist) from Beltone Hearing Aid Clinics. This company offers home visits, can remove ear wax and also offers free hearing tests. Hearing tests are now recommended for everyone over the age of 50. One in five Canadians suffer from hearing loss. There are different types of hearing losses: temporary, work-related, hereditary, age-related, etc. Seventy-eight percent of people aged 60 to 79 suffer from deafness and only 5% of them benefit from help. If you are over 50, see an audiologist soon.
