Students at Riverside Consolidated School (RCS) challenged adults in a pine-wood derby. They carved small race cars out of blocks of wood. After painting, adding wheels and fine-tuning their car for performance, the only thing left was their day at the races (November 16th). Thanks to Scout leader Jeff Melvin from the First Moncton Traditional Boy Scouts for providing the race track and making the race day a success.
Among our Albert County youth, our top racers were: Jason Dixon, Summer Stannard, Isaac Hubbard, Destiny Stannard, Carter McKinley, Dawson McKinley, David Stannard, Madison Dixon, Garret Stanley and Angus Dixon.
Among the Albert County adults, Mayor Jim Campbell, Debbie James, Scott Tingley, Tim Rossiter and Arnold Morrisey did well. In last place was Gordon James, the new pastor of the Hopewell Community Church, who hosted the event.
