The 2016 Albert County Community Health Needs Assessment identified the need for safe affordable housing. To address this need, the Safe Affordable Housing Committee was established to (i) assess the actual needs for housing; and (ii) recommend a strategy by which these needs could be met. The members of the committee include the mayors of the three municipalities; Phyllis Hudson and Joe Gallant from the Albert County Health and Wellness Centre; and Roy Ries from the Chipoudy Communities Revitalization Committee. In addition, Stephen Davies, President of Atlantic Peoples’ Housing Ltd., was invited to act as an advisor.
