Two events coming up that concern our beautiful forests: The first of interest to residents concerned about glyphosate, and the second for property and woodlot owners looking for alternative ways to benefit financially from their woodlots:
19 October at 6:30pm: Questions about Herbicides?
We’ve seen a great deal in the papers this fall regarding the spraying of glyphosate on New Brunswick forests and power lines...in particular around the Turtle Creek Watershed and in the Elgin/Petitcodiac areas. Residents may be unsure what this might mean for them and their families.
Margo Sheppard, long time environmental activist and freshwater advocate, will be in Hillsborough discussing developments in the movement to stop spraying herbicides in New Brunswick forests and on power lines, and will share her experiences and personal research into the issue.

25 October, 7pm: A Future for our Forests
Chris Spencer of SNB Wood Cooperative Inc. and Dale Priest of Community Forests International will be making a free public presentation on the impacts of climate change on New Brunswick forests and the opportunities this presents for woodlot and property owners.
The New Brunswick's Crown Land Forestry Act has and will continues to have impacts on the environment, Climate Change, economic returns for private woodlot owners and local employment opportunities in the forestry sector.
We encourage woodlot owners and the public—as well as municipal officers—to attend this presentation to learn about the following important topics:
